Biographies of the collaborators

Ayse Tashkiran – performer/movement director

Ayse is a graduate of the Drama Department at Bristol University; she then trained with Lecoq at L’Ecole International Jacques Lecoq for two years in Paris. She spent 12 years working as a physical theatre performer, work included a world tour of Voyageur Immobile with La Cie Philippe Genty, several shows with Table Show at BAC, the Traverse Theatre and West Yorkshire Playhouse and site specific performances for Projet InSitu in Syria, South Africa and France.

As a movement director productions include: Sarajevo Story, Lightwork, Lyric Hammersmith Studio ( 2008),Silent Tide ICA (2008) The London International Mime Festival; Ma Vie En Rose Young Vic (2007) Macbeth at Regent's Park Theatre (2007), Stacy (2007) Trafalgar Studios, La Nuit de 21 juin with French Company Label Brut on a radical reworking of Midsummer Nights’ Dream for (2007) French National Tour, Brixton Stories by Biyi Bandele at the Lyric Hammersmith (2006), The Beggar’s Opera directed by Pete Harris at the Blackheath Concert Halls (2006); L’Orfeo by Monteverdi at the Greenwich Theatre (2005); Here’s What I Did With My Body One Day for Lightwork at the Pleasance Theatre (2004) and National tour (2006); Forget Me Not, a multimedia clown piece for the London International Festival of Mime (2004) for Blackhole Productions; movement coaching on All’s Well That Ends Well Young Vic Directors Scheme (2004) with Pete Harris Nos Vies En Rose, a devised music theatre piece with the NYMT at the Birmingham Hippodrome’s Patrick Centre (2003).

She was part of the Art of Regeneration and the Royal National Theatre’s Next Generation project working with young people from South London to generate new music theatre. In January 2006 the Next Generation Artists worked at the National Theatre Studio on a research and development showing of their collaborative, multidisciplinary processes.

Ayse joined Central School of Speech and Drama in 2003 and is now co leading the new MA Movement Studies. She presented at PARIP in 2005 and at the Young Vic Genesis Project (2006) on movement direction

Daphna Attias - Director/ performer

Daphna is the director of dANTE OR dIE Theatre. The company focuses on multidisciplinary devised physical theatre as well as site-specific work. She has directed all of the company's work to-date including; Caliper Boy (Camden People's Theatre/Dublin Fringe Festival) NEVER SMILE A CROCODILE )(Frontiera Festival, Italy and a UK tour), Wanted at the Chelsea theatre and Ferrytale on the HMS President Ship as part of the Thames Festival 04. Besides her work with dANTE OR dIE She is currently working on a new performance for children based on short stories by Ionesco . She has assisted Akram Khan and Sidi  Larbi  Cherkaoui at Sadler's Wells. She has also worked as an Assistant Director in many theatres including the National Theatre of Israel, Herzrlia Theatre Ensemble, the Schaubuhne-Berlin, the Israeli Opera Institute and Itime Ensemble. For Lispector, she received The Israel-America Cultural Foundation Scholarship. She graduated from the MAATP course for directors at The Central School of Speech and Drama - and also studied at the school of visual theatre in Jerusalem.

Yaniv Fridel- musician/composer/performer

Yaniv Fridel is a Producer, multi-instrumentalist, theatre composer, and songwriter. His music can be described as atmospheric, romantic and uplifting combining contemporary electronic sounds and live instruments. To date, Fridel has composed more than 10 dance and theatre shows, numerous TV and Film productions and ad campaigns. His album recently was top demo in Sound on Sound magazine. Fridel has worked with Scapino ballet, Tim Supple, Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, ensemble Bat-Sheva, dANTE OR dIE theatre, CNN, Oi Va Voi, Pinedrop and other artists.

Robert Cook - performer

Robert Cook has performed with, among others, seven sisters group, ENO, Marie-Louise and Sirens Crossing, choreographed for contrived & exaggerated and The Gentle People and movement directed for Lorraine Bowen and various projects with Elina Manni, including co-directing "Whatever Happened to our Revolution?" for the "Get Together (again)" event at the Royal Court Theatre, London. He played the title role in 'Uncle Vanya' for Theatre Nomad. He co-devises and performs in Martha & Arthur, a physical theatre/cabaret hybrid, which has performed at Duckie, Lost Vagueness, Hip Hip and shown their full length work, 'A Lot of Nerve', at Hackney Empire Studio and Hoxton Hall (Time Out Critics Choice). He has worked extensively as a teacher and as a performer at corporate events for companies including Curious Company, Rin Tin Tin, Blase and Pick and Mix.

Konstantinos Thomaidis- performer

Konstantinos has a BA in Drama & Theatre (Acting) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He has just completed his MA in Physical Theatre and Performance at Royal Holloway University of London, and he is currently undertaking PhD research within the same department supervised by Alison Hodge.
Konstantinos has participated in workshops with playwright Valère Novarina, coach Evdokimos Tsolakidis and choreographer Amalia Bennett in Greece, Odin Teatret, Théâtre du Mouvement and Piesn Kozla in Denmark, and Amsterdam Body Weather in London. He is currently a trainee vocal dancer with Experience Bryon (Experience Vocal Dance Company).
He has worked as a performer, devisor, assistant director, composer, translator, Drama-in-Education animateur and theatrologist. His credits as a performer include: What lies in the darkness? (Chor. Stella Michailidou, FYROM), Tzitzimitzihotziria (dir. Stella Michailidou, Thessaloniki, Greece), 25 mins of… (dir. Korina Vasileiadou and Kostas Vomvolos, FYROM), A gaze that scours the landscape (devised by Libby Worth, Bristol, touring in Hungary May 2008), Atopos ( co-devised with Eeva Hautala, London). He is also the co-founder of The Dendrites Company.
Konstantinos holds a degree in Classical Harmony and is preparing for the final exams in Counterpoint and Performance (Piano). He has also studied singing with Dimitris Ziakoulis, Marina Voulogianni and Michael Harper.
Konstantinos has received 5 poetry awards and his academic record includes 6 Scholarships and Awards by the Greek State Scolarships Foundation, a Scholarship from the Friends of the Melina Merkouri Foundation, a College Research Scholarship from RHUL, a Scholarship from the Aristotle Onassis Foundation, a Scholarship and Award by the Rotary Club of Thessaloniki and an Award by the Greek Scientific Society.

 

Amadeo Rosenheim- performer/musician

Amadeo trained as an actor at the RESAD in Madrid where he gained a BA specialising in Physical Theatre. Also in Madrid he deepens his understanding in Commedia dell’Arte with Fabio Mangolini; Decroux technique and Marceau’s “mime de stile” with Jose Piris; and Ensemble and viewpoints with Michael Stubblefield. He came to London in 2004 and studied Corporeal Mime in the Ecole de Mime Corporeal Dramatique. He has also trained and performed Butoh with Marie-Gabrielle Rotie and Tadashi Endo. In 2007 he finishes off the MA Movement Studies at Central School of Speech and Drama.

At the present moment, Amadeo is a visiting lecturer at Italia Conti Academy and CSSD where he teaches movement. Amadeo has worked as a fencing and stage combat specialist for TV (Memorias de España, TVE) film (Alatriste, directed by Agustin Diaz-Yanes) and theatre (Vuelo de Armas, presented in the International Theatre Festival of Warsaw and The International Physical Theatre Festival of Santander).

His experience with children and youth includes several puppetry and theatre workshops within the Plan de Fomento a la Lectura funded by the MEC (Education and Science Ministry of Spain), creation and direction of the show Vagabunda Serenata for the IEL (Portugal) and Creative Movement workshops and classes for primary and GCSE in Mexico (ECAB, Cancun).

As a performer, theatre credits include: Not for Sale (Kate Sagovsky), Quasida (Vicente Sancho; Middlesex Univ.), Oedipus (Ricardo Gaete; Conway Hall), Convidados al Alcazar (Maite Hernangomez, Segovia, Spain), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Jose Piris, Madrid and Barcelona), The Water Station which received the Best Creation Award in the International Theatre Festival of Warsaw (Soledad Garre, Madrid and Warsaw), Transit (Begoña Fernandez, Madrid). He has also worked extensively in street theatre in Spain with established companies such as Tragaleguas and Mimox.

Amadeo also holds a grade 7 in violin and music theory from the Conservatory of Music in Seville.

Amadeo speaks fluently English, Spanish and Portuguese (bilingual), and conversational French.

Currently is developing community and educational art projects between Mexico and Europe as part of the ITZA initiative.

Jenny Hayton - production design

Jenny Hayton is a Costume Practitioner, working as a Designer, Costume Maker and Costume Supervisor. With a Master of Arts in Textiles and Fashion, she has worked for over 10 years in Professional Theatre. Recent work includes Exhibition Designer and Curator for an interactive archive event Catching a Glimpse of Peggy Ramsay’s Wardrobe Hampstead Theatre (2005); Costume Maker for Playing the Victim Directed by Richard Wilson, Told by an Idiot, The Royal Court; Costume Design Assistant / Supervisor Sweeney Todd, Embassy Theatre; Costume Designer Jack in a Box BBC Short Film Festival and Kodak Award winner; Costume Designer devised production of Iago Stands Accused of Villainous Secrets New Studio Bristol Old Vic; Body and Space at Hogeschule, Antwerp, collaborative project with costume and contact improvisation.

She has worked for 4 years at Dartington College of Arts managing the Costume Department for Devised Theatre and Contemporary Performance. As Deputy Wardrobe Manager at Central School of Speech and Drama, she managed all aspects of costume for the Showcase Public Productions. She now works at Central St Martin’s on the MA Scenography. She is currently part of the forum The Future of Costume, a collective of industry and education professionals to promote and profile specialist costume skills within the industry

Mark Jones – Lighting Designer

Originally from North Wales, Mark has been a lighting designer for theatre, concerts and events for a number of years. His work includes artists such as, Katherine Jenkins, along with productions ranging from devised theatre to outdoor music festivals. Recent work includes “The London Plays” – Iso Productions & Caliper Boy – dANTE or dIE Theatre Company. Mark is a graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama, London.
